Dear Friend,
We all experience tough times in our lives. We are sorry that you are going through some hardship right now and are glad that you reached out to us.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is a volunteer Catholic organization that tries to help our neighbors in need. Our conference — Resurrection Conference — is based at Resurrection Parish in Delran. We help neighbors in Riverside, Delran, and Delanco.
You probably have talked with one of our Intake Ministers. The next step is a Home Visit during which we’ll talk about your situation. After the Home Visit, our Discernment Committee will pray about the best way to help you.
Thank you for inviting us into your life. When we get together with our neighbors, we see and feel Jesus and grow stronger in our faith.
Preparing for your Home Visit
The Home Visit is a way for us to better understand how we may be able to help. Think of it as neighbors talking with neighbors..
We will need copies of documents related to the help you need to take back to our Discernment Committee who will then prayerfully consider your request. These documents may include:
A copy of your lease and any eviction notices
Your most recent statement from your landlord or your most recent mortgage statement
The last month of paystubs
Other income statements
Your most recent utility bills (PSEG, American Water, sewer, etc.)
If you would complete our Income & Expenses Worksheet that will help a great deal! No worries if you aren’t able to print out the worksheet — just have the information on-hand and we’ll fill it out together.
And, we’ll need you to sign a consent form giving us permission to contact your landlord, etc.
The Home Visit usually lasts about 45 minutes to one hour.
